Humane: Inflicting the minimum of pain, Stephen Ulimboka

Cry? Ofcourse I do.

When I laugh too hard.

When it hurts like hell.

When I miss people I love.

When I see something Sad.

Ofcourse I cry and I don’t think I am the only one that does. I’ve cried in two occasions this week for two very different reasons. The first occasion was when I was watching Naruto Shippuden and then I had to watch the scene when Naruto’s parents sacrifice themselves for him. It was the most beautiful example of unconditional love. Yes I cry when I watch emotional scenes in movies and anime but so what? The second occasion was yesterday.

I switched on the TV and this is what I saw :

The above image is of a man called Stephen Ulimboka. In Tanzania he is famous for being the chairman of MAT (Medical Association of Tanzania) In the past few weeks he has been attributed as the guy who is responsible for declaring a Doctors’ Strike. Yesterday he was found deserted in a forest beaten  to  this unrecognizable state. He is now in ICU. There are those who argue that he could have been beaten by members of the public whose family have suffered due to the strike or by random gangs. I was in a state of shock as I watched him being taken to the hospital for emergency care.

For me it is not about Stephen. The root of my emotion is the disbelief or failure to understand that any human will contemplate to hurt another with no bit of remorse or compassion. It hurts that someone would lose sight of their humanity and perform an act that goes against all society norms.

My prayers go to Stephen as he fights for his life and all other victims of torture and brutality .
